- Characterization and Behavior of Materials and Structures
Experimental measurements of parameters and correlation with the different properties of materials:
- structural properties: evaluating the intrinsic characteristics of materials and microstructure;
- mechanical properties: evaluating mechanical and rheological characteristics and properties of metals, polymers, biopolymers, bitumen, stone, soils, hydraulic concrete, composites and ceramics;
- electronic properties: evaluating electronic transport characteristics of materials;
- magnetic properties: evaluating characteristics involving magnetic interactions;
- chemical properties: evaluating the interaction between materials due to their chemical composition and the formation of new elements.
- New Materials Development
Development of polymers, ceramics, metals, composites, asphalt, synthetic and organic mixtures; study of the preparation of thin film materials; obtaining biopolymers and biocompatible materials; obtaining nanostructured materials and nanometric structures; treatment and modification of solid surfaces; characterization of mechanical, physicochemical and structural properties of polymers, ceramics, metals and composites.
