SCHEDULING THE THESIS DEFENSE
Use the Thesis Defense Request Form to submit the request to the Graduate Office, signed by the advisor.
Before submitting the request, the student must check their transcript to ensure all requirements for the defense have been met according to Normative Resolution No. 154/2021/CUn (for students governed by the 2023 Regulations and the 2022 Regulations) and Normative Resolution No. 95/CUn/2017 (for students governed by the 2018 Regulations).
External Committee Member Registration – For members not part of UFSC’s faculty. Send this form to the Graduate Office email along with the defense request form.
The examining committee must include at least 3 (three) professors, excluding the advisor and any co-advisor, with at least one external member not affiliated with Pós-ECM. All members must be active or retired professors from the Program or from related Graduate Programs, holding a doctoral degree, habilitation, or recognized expertise in the research topic, appointed by the Program Coordinator through an official order.
Minimum required composition of the Master’s Thesis Examining Committee:
- EXTERNAL MEMBER to Pós-ECM (excluding the Advisor and Co-advisor)
- INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL MEMBER to Pós-ECM (excluding the Advisor and Co-advisor)
- INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL MEMBER to Pós-ECM (excluding the Advisor and Co-advisor)
Room booking for the defense is the responsibility of the student.
